There's no doubt that they look cool, but to pick up a set for each of my teams along with the scatter set and the plot cards would set me back in the region of £120, so I can't shake the feeling that they will be a little bit on the expensive side.
I'm aware that the comparison I'm about to make is a little on the unfair side, but I'm going to compare a set to a Warmachine token set. I wouldn't normally, but they're currently sat in my order basket on Element Games waiting for my Retribution all in one box).
A faction specific Warmachine token set (in this case the Retribution set) will set you back £7.99 RRP, with 40 tokens, 10 of which are faction specific, but all in a faction specific colour.
The Guild Ball sets are all individually specific, and range in quantity with the prices reflecting that. However, they are all at least twice the price of the Warmachine sets.
My business mind is saying that they are a small start up, barely past a year old, with a much smaller player base (currently) than Warmachine, which means current production figures will be a hell of a lot smaller and thus they won't be able to absorb as many of the overheads on initial cuts and designs, which pushes the cost of the individual products up.
Overall, they look awesome, but I think they are probably aimed at people with 1-2 teams max, not people who have the majority of the range sat around. I'll probably be getting the scatter set when Element Games put them up with their usual 10% discount.
