Unboxing Kabuki's Honey Valentine (NSFW)

I've felt for quite a while that painting flesh tones are one of my painting weaknesses. With that in mind, I picked up a couple of Kabuki's Big Sisters range at the same time as the Bonny Anne bust. The first Big sister is Honey Valentine, and as suggested by the NSFW tag in the title, there is plenty of flesh on show.

For those that aren't aware, Kabuki's Big Sisters are Pin Ups in 54mm scale, made from resin. They range from various fairy tale characters to historically inspired figures. Honey Valentine comfortably fits into the "Gangster" bracket.

Inside the blister is a large base and a bag containing all of the parts for her.

The decorative base fits inside the gaming base and has an indentation in the center to put the chair into. There is a medium amount of flash across the model, as shown on the chair itself where the middle needs cleaning out.

The main body of Honey is one piece, and fits nicely into the molded area of the seat. While there is a decent amount of flash on the chair and the sprues, the main body itself is very clean.

The remaining items in the kit build up her arms and head, along with two options for her missing foot - one with shoe, one without.

I've not attempted sheer clothing before, but that, combined with the amount of flesh, should make her a tricky and interesting piece for me to paint up.

  1. You might have some fun working with the pinups from kingdom death as well. Plenty of flesh on those ladies!

    1. I've looked at KD a few times, but haven't managed to find a UK retailer that stocks them yet. Any orders I made from the US would be sure to pick up hefty import taxes I imagine :)
