ArcWorlde Tarot Deck - A Closer Look

A slightly different Closer Look today - not minitures but the lovely new ArcWorlde Tarot Deck from Warploque Miniatures.

The ArcWorlde Tarot Deck is a standard deck of 54 playing cards filled to the brim with ArcWorlde artwork and charm. Along with being a lovely deck of cards, they are used in ArcWorlde for working with Arcanite, Magic and Epic Duels so they have purpose as well as style.

Packs arrive in plastic wrap, outside the deck and inside as well, to keep the cards together.

Why do I have two decks? Well, this was initially an add on to the recent Battle For Troll Bridge Kickstarter in a set with a trio of Wizards (the unboxing of this KS can be found right here) but at some point along the way they found their way into the KS starter boxes. Add on wizards + starter box = 2 Decks!

Upon opening the deck, you'll find that they were produced by Madame Fortescue's Fine Tarot Cards and Collectables, which is based in the City of Albionnica - from this I would infer that the slight delay in the delivery of the cards from the Kickstarter being delivered was from the unreliability of Professor Hoome's dimension jumping.

The back design of the cards.

The four suits in the ArcWorlde Tarot are Swords, Coins, Forks and Quills, while each card has a name along with a value. There are some cards in the deck that are the same design with tweaks to colour schemes or design, while others are completely different.

The Trickster (Joker) - Understandably they don't have Mark Hamill's face on as Knight Models have the DC rights locked up, but I think that would have improved the deck even further :)

The Fortress - a slight change of colour along with the emblem changing to match the suit.

The Beast - One of the cards that varies per suit. Here we have the majestic Fire Dragon Ancient and the grumpy Bull River Troll.
If you fancy picking yourself up a deck, they're available on the Warploque Games webstore - they're even part of the August sale so you can pick them up for £6 - 25% off!
