Batman Tournament Time - Who to Pick?
West Coast Gamers announced their first Annual Batman Miniature Game Tournament this week, and it will be taking place in Aspatria, Cumbria. Despite being an hour away, this will probably be the closest I can get to a "local" tournament (Cumbria can be pretty, but it does take a while to get places).

Not every character in the Batman Miniature Game gets a name. Most do, in one form or another, be it the Green Arrow, or Turk, a Black Gate prisoner with two pistols. Some just get a job title, such as Gotham Policeman (better known as Fat Cop) or Clown (Knife), indicating the weapon the character is armed with. The GCPD Detective is one such character.
Basius 2 From Wargames Bakery - Getting Started and the Projects to Come
They're here at last! Earlier this week I got to experience the rush that you get when you find a box of Kickstarter goodies waiting for you. In this instance, it was two large resin squares from Wargames Bakery. Well actually, it was two of their new Basius 2 basing mold pads from their Kickstarter that was run between September and October last year. After a few delays, they were all delivered to Mantic last week, and shipped out this week.

Age Of Sigmar Starter Box Unboxing and an Optimist's Opinion So Far.
With The End Times ended and the Old World destroyed, the plotline for Warhammer Fantasy didn't really have a lot of places to go. So, where better to go than up into space, with a god riding a big rock who then meets a dragon creature. Seems legit.
That's a pretty condensed version of the premise for Age of Sigmar, but Games Workshop needed to reboot somehow after a pretty successful showing of ripping a couple of decades of lore to pieces in The End Times in a process that injected a lot of enthusiasm back into a game that for some (myself included) had gone a little stale.
There are a lot of naysayers about in regard to Age of Sigmar, but I'm going to try not to be one of them. I'm going to try and give what should hopefully be a positive outlook on the new game and also throw in some pictures of the brand new Age Of Sigmar starter box, containingSigmarines Stormcast Eternals and some Khorne dudes.

Unboxing the Retribution of Scyrah All In One Army Box
As promised on our Facebook page when it arrived, here is an unboxing of the recently released All In One Army Box for Retribution of Scyrah from Privateer Press. Inside it is a full 35 point army consisting of 1 Warcaster, 2 Warjacks, 2 units of troops, a troop command unit and 3 solos.
It is described as a limited release box aimed at either new players or veterans wanting to start a new faction, so it won't be around forever. I picked up mine from Element Games for just under £90.

Getting Warmachine Ready
A few years back, when I only bought stuff from Games Workshop, I learnt about a game called Warmachine that existed, but wasn't produced by Games Workshop. Teenage me then went and bought more Space Marines, deciding that since it wasn't GW, it wouldn't be worth it as people around me didn't play. Plus, at the time, nothing screamed out to my "ooh shiny" syndrome and demanded purchasing.
Fast forward a few years and I became aware of the Retribution of Scyrah faction. Part of me went "oh cool, elves. I like elves." Another part of me said "I have nobody to play against, and they would take away spending from my armies I could be playing. I'll pass."
Zip forward through time to the present day and I'm getting ready to eat my words.

Unboxing The Infamy Ton
I got a nice surprise on Saturday - a box from Element Games. Initially I wondered what it could be, as I'd only placed an order the evening before and wasn't expecting anything else from them. It then hit me that recently I'd seen a post on Facebook that James from Infamy had recently had a trip to EG to discuss the shipping of his Welcome to the Big Smoke Kickstarter so I was delighted to find my Infamy Ton inside, ordered online during Salute weekend.

Assassinorum: Execution Force - Unboxing & Reviewing GW's New Board Game
Games Workshop recently released a new board game - Assassinorum: Execution Force. It's similar to Space Hulk in style - miniatures on a board rather than a straight up board game and is a "While Stocks Last" item that costs £75 direct. The main draw for most people will be the four new Imperial Assassins, but you also get a Chaos Terminator Lord sprue to allow you to build Trask, The Chaos Sorcerer who is the "Big Bad" if you will, and also 15 snap fit chaos cultists plucked from the Dark Vengeance box set.

Undead Spirit Host - Getting Back To Fantasy - 9/50
It's been a while since I worked on anything Fantasy - probably going back to late last year since I last finished something. So, while I have been focused on getting a few other projects built (Guild Ball Masons along with one or two pieces you'll see in the near future), I've been throwing paint at a Spirit Host to keep my eye in.
