Showcase - Imperial Guard Lord Commissar

At the end of Part 2 last week, I said this week I'd be focusing on the metals. I got a little carried away and finished the Lord Commissar instead.

Trolls, Trolls, Trolls : Part 4

It's the final chapter of my trollblood speed painting project, can I finish in time?

Unboxing Keysha from Purgatory

Last week Purgatory started sending out orders of their third model - Keysha, which I was rather excited about. In fact, I like the guys at Purgatory a lot, and they like it when people paint their miniatures and enter them into their contests, which I did for both of their previous releases - Death and Saint Peter. The way Purgatory do things is that if you win a competition for one figure, you win a copy of the next one they release. So, seeing as I won the contest for Saint Peter (I've probably mentioned it before, but it's still a pretty new and awesome feeling, so I'm going to keep saying it), here is Keysha.

Brambleten Paints... Imperial Guard Lord Commissar Part 2

Welcome to Part 2 of my Lord Commissar project. For those that missed it, Part 1 can be found  right here.

I finished Part 1 by hinting at what was coming next with his green shirt, so that's where we'll begin.

Trolls, Trolls, Trolls : Part 3

Let's take another look at how I'm getting on with my Troll speed painting Challenge as we move into the final week..

Hero Of the Month pt 2

Image result for Superman

This week has moved slowly With progress, but that is the price to pay for what I decided to do.

Practicing Dark Skin Tones (NSFW)

With Purgatory starting sending out their Keysha models, I thought it was about time that I got some practice in at painting dark skin tones, as I've never successfully completed one on a mini before!

With that in mind, I attacked my Hasslefree bag (most of which I picked up in a binge, back in October) and came out with Misha, one of several nudes I picked up for just such a purpose. With Misha being a nude mini, some might consider the pictures beyond the jump NSFW.

March is Hero Month.

In honor of the film Batman Vs Superman coming out this month was about time to paint a superhero.

Deathwatch: Overkill Unboxing

As many of you will know, the new boxed game from Games Workshop was released on Saturday - Deathwatch Overkill!

In this post, I'll unbox the brute :)

Crewe Show

Over the Weekend I went to the South Cheshire Military Modeling club Show in Crewe......

Plating up the Infamy Miniatures Full English Pledge - Part 4: Brunch

Welcome to the final part of my Infamy: Welcome to the Big Smoke Kickstarter unboxing. I've titled it Brunch, as it crosses the divide between the Full English pledge I picked up in the Kickstarter and the new, pre-release toys that have arrived courtesy of the recent Infamy One Shot Kickstarter (which was unboxed earlier in the week by Shamikebab here)

I'd also like to take a moment to say sorry for the delay! This has been the largest unboxing I've done since I received all of my Guild Ball Kickstarter models and it's been quite spread out. If you missed any sections, here are Part 1Part 2 and Part 3

Project Generation System - Project 1

At the start of the year, I laid out plans on a new project generation system that would come into use for me when I had finished my current projects. Well, with St Peter and The Artist done, it's time to get started.

Showcase: War Hog

Finally my War Hog is finished. After all this time working on it, I don't really know what to think anymore, but i'm certainly pleased with at least some aspects. Let's take a look!

Shieldwolf Miniatures Shieldmaiden Kickstarter Reboot now Live

Shieldwolf Miniatures have relaunched their Kickstarter Campaign (here) to fund the production of plastic units of Shieldmaidens and then other units for that army, following the cancellation of the previous attempt last month,

Complete Miniature Lists for Knight Models - Batman, Spider-Man and Marvel Universe

As some of you may know, I keep track of my miniatures on a large spreadsheet. A large chunk of my collection is made up of the Batman Miniature Game and Marvel miniatures (now the Marvel Universe Miniatures Game and Spider-Man Miniatures Game) from Knight Models.

Recently in Arkham City Limits, the Official Facebook group for BMG, the question was asked - is there a list of all the BMG miniatures? With that question in mind and the release for pre-order of the first sets for the new MUG, I have altered my spreadsheet to now list all current releases from Knight Models for both DC and Marvel in 35mm.

War Hog WIP Part 3

Just one week to go until Smogcon, let's see what's left to do...

Vapnartak Show 2016 - My First Wargames Show!

Having not long returned from my first wargaming show - Vapnartak - in York, I thought I'd share the pictures I took, along with any thoughts that occur to me while I meander through this. This may be quite a heavy post, as I'm leaving the pictures full size when they upload to hopefully give the best level of detail.

Showcase: The Artist

It's a little shocking, I admit, but this is already the second model I've finished this year! Recently Wamp ran their annual painting contest, Wamped, of which this year was number 6. You can enter multiple times and there are categories for both general miniatures from any supplier, and models produced by Wamp. Having already entered BonnieFather Griffmas and St Peter thanks to the rules stating that any model can be entered as long as it isn't shown online in a completed condition prior to the contest starting, I felt I should have a go at entering something into the Wamp category.

Enter, The Artist.

Gaming and Painting Motivation

My gaming and painting interests have been waxing and waning for a little while now so I recently thought maybe I could give 40k another try.

Flying the Flag for noobs!

There are lots of ways people are able to show their support for things these days and we thought of a fun way people are able to show their support for not only Noobs and their paintbrush but for noobs everywhere.

The idea is to take a picture including the noobs and their paintbrush logo the picture can be anything from a miniature with the logo or the logo by it or anything....

When you have done that send it to Noobsandthierpaintbrush@gmail.com  with your name and if you have one website and we will add it to the List.

To start it off and to give people an idea of what they could do here is Roman Lappat Aka Jarhead

So get your thinking caps on and lets make this something fun and also remember its for the noobs.

Plating up the Infamy Miniatures Full English Pledge - Part 3: Elevensies

Welcome to a slightly delayed Part 3 of my Infamy Miniatures Full English KS Unboxing. After the unnamed Part 1 and Part 2: Second Breakfast comes Elevensies. In this Unboxing, I'll be looking at The Quaker, The Paranormal, Mr Dodgson, the now retired Frank Hyde, Oscar and finally the fierce looking Jo March.

War Hog WIP Part 2

Let's check back in and see how my little pig is coming on with 3 weeks left until Smogcon 2016!

St Peter from Purgatory - Single Figure Winner

Back in September, I won the single figure category of Purgatory's first painting contest for Death. The reward for winning that contest was a copy of St Peter (unboxing here), which gave me a chance to enter the next contest, which finished last weekend.

It turns out that something between me and Purgatory miniatures seems to have clicked, as St Peter followed Death and also picked up the win in the single figure category!

War Hog WIP Part 1

Hi guys, for my first post let’s take a look at how my planned entry for Smogcon 2016 is getting along!

I spent a considerable amount of time working on the composition and preparing the miniature, these Restic models from PrivateerPress are a bit of a pain like that, in that it’s not easy to sand/scrape the material without it flaking away, causing a poor finish.

Bolton Ipms Show.

On Sunday I was at the Bolton Model show and it was great and a lot of great models and people........

(Very Pic Heavy)

Unboxing: Sorceress of the Circle from Shieldwolf Miniatures

Welcome to the third unboxing in our Shieldwolf Miniatures week!

After seeing Shamikebab play with his Orc Standard Bearer and Merkeysa get to grips with his Mounted General/Warrior Priest, it's my turn. I was offered the choice between a Wizard, a Mounted General and an Orc and, as I'm not an Orc person, that was the order of my preference.

With that in mind, I was rather happy when the Sorceress appeared in the post.
