90 Minute Challenge - Imperial Guardsman and Prisoner 01

Well, this is an unexpectedly productive start to the year! I took up the 90 Minute Challenge on Monday to paint up Prisoner 01 from the Batman Miniature Game. Not being happy with the final result, I had another crack at the challenge on Tuesday, finishing my first proper Imperial Guardsman in my new army scheme.

Learning to Airbrush - First Steps

Last week I got an airbrush for my birthday - more particularly a Harder & Steenbeck Evolution so this week I've been teaching myself how to use it.

Building a Better City - Terrain Time!

Last week I had the opportunity to go to the Phoenix Lakeland Wargames Exhibition, which was the first wargames show in Cumbria. Along with a wander around, I took a load of photos, which can be found (hopefully) here on our Facebook page.

One thing that stood out for me was the quality of the boards on display for both the display games and the tournament boards for Batman. Pretty much as soon as I got home from the show, I started building some of my pile of MDF that I've acquired over the last few months. In just under a week, I've gone from nothing, to this.

Under The Red Hood - Batman Gang Complete

With a week until the Phoenix Lakeland Wargames show at Rheged, I've finally finished up my Batman crew to take to the BMG Participation/Demo table. The last model that needed painting was Jason Todd, the Red Hood.

BMG Joker Crew - Ready for Mayhem!

The Joker Crew pour from the gates of Arkham Asylum. They are ready to hit the streets of Gotham City to cause as much chaos and mayhem as they can before the Bat arrives!

The streets of Gotham will never be the same again.

Batman Miniatures Game Joker Crew WIP

Hello and welcome to my first Work in Progress project.

I bought the BMG Joker Crew models well over a year ago, and started painting them at the time. With the Phoenix Rising Event coming to Cumbria on 25th June, and the addition of a BGM tournament, I thought it best to dig my crew out and finish them off!

Due to a miscast, my Joker's knife was non-existent. But that doesn't stop him stabbing people anyway!

Gotham Police Officer - Ready for The Table

Two models finished in two weeks? Some might call it madness, others might call it momentum. Either way, a second model on and off my desk inside a couple of sessions and it's Fat Cop from BMG.

Animated Series Batman - Showcase

In a move as stealthy as The Bat himself, I snuck Batman from The Animated Series onto my desk in between my halflings and amazingly had him finished in only a couple of sessions.

The Killing Joke Joker - A Closer Look

For our second Closer Look, I've gone for Knight Models' The Killing Joke Joker - arguably the most classic iteration of the Joker to be turned into a model so far by Knight.

Complete Miniature Lists for Knight Models - Batman, Spider-Man and Marvel Universe

As some of you may know, I keep track of my miniatures on a large spreadsheet. A large chunk of my collection is made up of the Batman Miniature Game and Marvel miniatures (now the Marvel Universe Miniatures Game and Spider-Man Miniatures Game) from Knight Models.

Recently in Arkham City Limits, the Official Facebook group for BMG, the question was asked - is there a list of all the BMG miniatures? With that question in mind and the release for pre-order of the first sets for the new MUG, I have altered my spreadsheet to now list all current releases from Knight Models for both DC and Marvel in 35mm.

Cataloging the Collection

This time last month, I detailed my collection of miniatures, which has since been added to. I know most of what I've got in my collection but I thought it would be useful to have a system to identify my painting progress with them.

With that in mind, I've started building a spreadsheet.

Brambleten's Tour Of Gotham - Part 9: Another Cop on the Payroll - Knight Models Gotham Police Officer

With the West Coast Gamers Batman tournament getting closer every day, I've been attempting to make a dent in the gang I'd like to take if I attend. With the GCPD Detective finished at the end of July, I got another member of Gotham's finest finished in time for my OMAM (One Miniature A Month) deadline at the end of August.

Basius 2 - The Milliput Experiments.

Recently, I picked up a couple of Basius 2 pads from the Wargames Bakery Kickstarter for them and posted about my first attempts at using green stuff with them. I got a couple of comments suggesting I try Milliput with them, so that's exactly what I've done!

Batman Tournament Time - Who to Pick?

West Coast Gamers announced their first Annual Batman Miniature Game Tournament this week, and it will be taking place in Aspatria, Cumbria. Despite being an hour away, this will probably be the closest I can get to a "local" tournament (Cumbria can be pretty, but it does take a while to get places).

Brambleten's Tour Of Gotham - Part 8: GCPD Detective - Another One Off The List

Not every character in the Batman Miniature Game gets a name. Most do, in one form or another, be it the Green Arrow, or Turk, a Black Gate prisoner with two pistols. Some just get a job title, such as Gotham Policeman (better known as Fat Cop) or Clown (Knife), indicating the weapon the character is armed with. The GCPD Detective is one such character.

Basius 2 From Wargames Bakery - Getting Started and the Projects to Come

They're here at last! Earlier this week I got to experience the rush that you get when you find a box of Kickstarter goodies waiting for you. In this instance, it was two large resin squares from Wargames Bakery. Well actually, it was two of their new Basius 2 basing mold pads from their Kickstarter that was run between September and October last year. After a few delays, they were all delivered to Mantic last week, and shipped out this week.

Beware The Court of Owls... and Hush - Knight Models New Releases

It's new faction time in the Batman Miniature Game, with the dreaded and long awaited Court of Owls arriving on the scene, along with the star of what is widely regarded to be one of the best Batman graphic novels - Hush.

Project Decision Time - Help Me Choose What Comes Next

I'm getting towards the end of my current miniature and I'm trying to work out what project to sink my teeth in to next.

Over the last month I've been attending a new gaming club that started up in town, so I want to try and return my focus to painting for gaming rather than painting for painting. The club is only small at the moment, and it's an even split of miniatures and Magic, so what I want to do is get some small warbands/armies built and painted for a few systems to be able to run demo games and get people into things if they aren't already, or to be able to pick up games with others who already run one of these systems.

Bramblen's Tour of Gotham - Part 7: League of Shadows Crew Finished 7/50

This is a post I am quite proud to be putting together. I have a horrid track record of starting stuff and not finishing it, particularly armies. So, to be able to put in the title that my League of Shadows crew is finished, I'm really quite chuffed.

I got the last figure finished on 31st March, just in time for the end of the Arkham City Limits painting contest.

Brambleten's Tour of Gotham - Part 6: The Head of the Demon 6/50

It turns out that helping run a Kickstarter (Wamp Select Series Paintbrushes - If you haven't seen them yet, where have you been?) is rather more work than either me or Brett anticipated so it's been a massively busy week. Because of this, I haven't been able to finish this guy as quickly as I would have liked. However, he is now done and I'm rather happy with him.

Liam Neeson, or as he is known in Gotham - Ra's al Ghul.
