This week's Games Workshop release sees the Necrons get a new Codex, plastic Overlord and an Army Box. You can
pre-order them now from Games Workshop or other indie retailers, with full release coming on Saturday 31st January.
First up is the Codex and there
are were four choices available to you. Firstly, there is the Limited Cyptek Edition of which there were 1000 put up for order from the GW site. These are now all gone so unless you got in quick, these £100 beasties have vanished for good.
Speaking of sold out - there were also some datacards available and despite being restricted to one item per order, they vanished as rapidly as the Cryptek. You might still be able to get these, however, if you raid your local GW first thing next Saturday morning.
Next up you have the standard Codex, which will set you back £30 for a hardback of 120 pages.
There are also the options to go digital - the standard ebook edition is available for £21.99 from Black Library, while the Enhanced Edition will set you back £34 from the iTunes Store.
Only one new model in this release (more next week maybe?), but he's rather a nice one. £17 will net you a plastic clampacked Necron Overlord. To give you a sense of how big he is, thats a 40mm base he is standing on rather than the usual 30mm.
Finally we have the army box. I say army box, but there isn't any troop choices in there as far as I can tell (I'm not a Necron player, but I'm sure that everything in the box is either Elite, Fast Attack or Heavy Support. And a HQ of course). For £115 you get an Overlord, 5 Lychguard, 10 Immortals, 1 Triarch Stalker, 3 Canoptek Wraiths and an Annihilation Barge.
